Loudoun County, Virginia
Revolutionary War Patriots

Loudoun County took a great deal of pride in the men she supplied to General Washington's Continental Army, as well as those citizens that provided patriotic service towards the cause of Independence. Many of those soldiers and citizens were listed in Loudoun County Order Book G, the Minute Books, and in the Pension Records which were filed at the Loudoun County Courthouse in Leesburg, VA

Loudoun County Soldiers
in the Continental Army (1777-1783)

During the War Loudoun County was quite diligent in providing for the welfare of the neediest families, wives, and children of her soldiers, meticulously providing funds and assigning certain gentlemen to look after these unfortunate families to see that no one suffered due to the absence or loss of a husband or son in the service. While this list did not give all Loudoun County soldiers in Washington's Army, it is invaluable for many names not found elsewhere.

The names of soldiers, family members, dates of payment, and gentlemen assigned to provide for those families were listed on the last four pages of Loudoun County Order Book G, Volume II. They have been listed below in alphabetical order:
